Imarisha Vijana is a project committed to fight youth unemployment in Mombasa within the overall approach of enhancing employment creation and development of marketable and employable skills. It is a one stop service location for Mombasa youth to provide information, advice and career guidance as well as training and mentoring with the aim of enabling the youth to access employment opportunities or become self-employed.
The programme prepares the youth through the necessary tools and relying on their own or informal sector. It is open and responsive to youth questions and concerns on a continuous basis. The project is targeting individuals who are:
- School drop outs,
- Age of 18-30 years,
- Have no KCSE certificate,
- Job seekers or those who want to set up own business.
The Project commenced its activities in September 2015 with a generous funding from the UK Aid/Department for International Development of the United Kingdom Government.
The Imarisha Vijana Centre (IVC) offers the following services to the eligible and qualified youths enrolled in the programme:
